If your family is looking for a large dog that is mild mannered, playful, and great with children, I would recommend either the Goldendoodle or a Labradoodle. Both of these dogs are hybrid dogs, meaning they are derived from mating two separate purebred dogs. The Goldendoodle is a mixture between a Golden Retriever and Poodle, whereas the Labradoodle is a mixture between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. Both bred from retrievers and poodles, what is the difference? This is a common question that a lot of people ask, and other than a few physical traits, there are not a lot of differences between the Goldendoodle and Labradoodle. As far as personality and temperament is concerned, it’s very hard to distinguish many distinctions between these two breeds. Both dogs are highly trainable, intelligent, hypoallergenic, and extremely friendly. Goldendoodles seem to be a little less weary when meeting strangers, but both dogs are known to be extremely sociable animals. They both have been used many times for service and therapy purposes, and are great with children. The main differences between these two breeds are their physical characteristics. As far as size is concerned, the Goldendoodle tends to be a little larger than the Labradoodle, both in height and weight. When it comes to looks and grooming, the Goldendoodle has hair that is much longer than the Labradoodle, therefore it will need visits to the groomer for a haircut every 4 10 weeks or so.
